Version History

This is where all uploaded versions of the module appear. A new version can be uploaded by clicking Upload Content. A version can be previewed, downloaded, deleted or have its metadata imported via the menu button in the Options column. Clicking View full version history will bring up the log of every action (new version created, files updated, or version deleted) this module has undergone.

Converting FTP/URL modules to Content Cloud

Any FTP/URL learning module that points to a launch file can be converted to Content Cloud.

You may want to convert your existing modules to Content Cloud to take advantage of Content Cloud’s new features such as course versioning.

Converting your existing module to Content Cloud instead of creating an entirely new module will allow you to preserve completion data.

Begin by clicking Switch to Content Cloud on the eLearning Settings tab of your eLearning configured for FTP/URL. You will then need to obtain a .zip package of the learning module in question. This can be downloaded from the FTP server via an FTP client (such as Filezilla) if you do not already have a copy. Make sure all of the necessary files are on the root of the .zip file (contact your support specialist if you are unsure). Click Upload Content and upload your .zip package. After finishing this process, your module will be successfully converted to take full advantage of Content Cloud.

Users in progress will need to start the content over from the beginning once a module has been converted to Content Cloud.

Upload Content - “Create new version” vs “Update files in current version”

When the time comes to update your Content Cloud content, clicking Upload Content will present you with 2 options. With either option, uploading a new file will not make new assignments, modify existing assignments, or assign retakes.

Create new version

Most of the time, the best option is to create a new version of the content.

  • Students will only ever be able to view the latest version

  • Module completions will be tracked on a per version basis and can be viewed in either
Development Plan Administration or the Assigned Learning Module Status Report

  • Previous versions are saved for reference and backup

  • In progress users will have to start over from the beginning on the new version upon launch

    • This prevents potential tracking issues when trying to load tracking data from a previous version of the content onto a newer version of the content

Update files in current version

This option allows you to add new files to or replace existing files within your course package. Contact your support specialist if you need assistance.

What does this do?

Update files in current version can either add new files to your module or replaces existing files in the package with new files that are of the same filename and in the same relative location within the zip.

Why select this option?

  • Open tracking data must be preserved

  • There are minimal changes to a module that do not change the page structure or functionality (such as text or media file updates)

  • Individual files within a module need to be replaced

  • Creating a new version in the Version History table is not desired

  • Bandwidth concerns over uploading a full package

This option can lead to content or tracking issues if the new files are incompatible with the existing files.

What is a “partial .zip?”

When selecting Update files in current version, a full .zip package is not required. You may use a partial .zip to add or replace specific files within the package, as long as the folder structure in the partial .zip matches the original full .zip. Contact your support specialist if you need assistance configuring a partial .zip to update specific files in the module.

Media file support

Media files (.PDF, .MP4, .MP3) can be directly uploaded and converted into eLearning modules with basic tracking.

  • .PDF files require 100% of the pages to be viewed in order to receive a completion. There is no indication to the user of which pages have been viewed.

  • .MP4 and .MP3 files require 95% of the video/audio to be viewed in order to receive a completion. There is no way to disable seeking and there is no indication to the user of which parts of the video/audio have been viewed or listened to.
