Training Huddles
Training Huddles allow you to gather up to 50 users together in a room and train on a single computer or big screen. The group of students can then all receive credit for the assignments at the same time.
Learning Module settings
For a module to be available for Training Huddles, it must have the “Allow Training Huddles” box checked. This setting can be found on the 'Information' tab when editing a Learning Module. Only eLearning, Video, and ILT modules have this setting available.
There is also a "Force Training Huddles" setting, if you want to require students to complete via a Training Huddle. Only eLearning and Video modules have this setting available. If enabled, students will not be able to start the training from their Development Plan and will see a message saying to seek out their supervisor to complete the training.
Starting a new training huddle
If you are in a role that can launch Training Huddles, a Training Huddles section will appear on your Dashboard. Click "Start a New Training Huddle Session" to begin. (See the "Development Plan" tab of Role Settings to enable Training Huddles for a role.)
Sign-in
Depending on how Training Huddles are configured for your system, students may or may not be required to sign in. For more information about Training Huddle Configuration Options, see this article.
On this page, each student present should sign in with their login ID and password. This may be done with the login ID and password fields at the top of the page or by having students scan the QR Code, if enabled.
If authentication is not required for Training Huddles in your system, simply add the student by name or login ID with the dropdown at the top of the page.
Once every user has signed in, press the green 'Start' button at the bottom to begin.
Running the training
The next screen will show you all items that are available for Training Huddles, ordered by the number of students in the group who have item assigned. Items that are assigned to all users on the roster will appear at the top.
You can also use the filter tools to only show assigned content, sort the content by how it would appear on a development plan, or search for a particular piece of content using the filter box.
From here, you can launch and complete any item just like a student would from their Development Plan. Once the content is finished, all users who are signed in to the huddle will receive credit.
When you are done with a Training Huddle, press the 'Finished' button at the top of the screen to close the session.
If you need to come back and finish the other training items at a later time, you can also save the Training Huddle by pressing the 'Save for Later' button at the top of the screen. When you are ready to train again, just find the Training Huddle on your dashboard. Note that students may need to sign in again.
If you wish to complete training with a new group of users, make sure create a new Training Huddle rather than re-using an existing one.
