Cognition Knowledge Base

Video

Video modules allow you to assign learners videos to watch as part of their training.  These videos can be broken up into chapters and navigation options, such as skipping chapters or fast forwarding, can be allowed/disallowed depending on how your organization plans to use the module. If you intend on doing Group Training with a video module, you can use Training Huddles.

Video Specific Settings

Video specific settings are set during step 4 of module creation, or at anytime by clicking on the 'Video Settings' tab.

  • Video Title - Title of video.

  • Allow Seek - If Checked, users will be able to fast forward and skip chapters.

  • Video Size - Full screen, native (default), or a custom video player size

Click Update to save any changes to these settings.

Add Video Chapters

If you have a video file (.mp4) make sure to visit the Uploading Content to Cognition page to find more information on how to upload your video to the server (FTP) and make it accessible.

  • Chapter Title - Select a title for the chapter.

  • External URL - Link to an external video hosted on either YouTube or Vimeo. Take a look at Adding YouTube and Vimeo Links to a Video Module for more information on how to setup the links. You can also point to an External URL where your video file may be available, such as your intranet site.

  • Internal Using Root URL - The first section of the URL is pre-generated based on the available root URLs specified in the Environment Settings page of the Administration tab. Next, you will paste the exact location of the video file based on where it’s located on your web server (FTP).
