Cognition Knowledge Base

eLearning

The eLearning module type allows for many types of interactive learning content, including videos and test type activities, all in a single module.  These modules can be completed over multiple sessions with progress being saved. You may use Training Huddles for this Learning Module. Depending on your organization's license, eLearning modules can support SCORM 1.2 and AICC standards.

Table of Contents

Uploading content, including eLearning content, is detailed more extensively in the Uploading Content to Cognition article.

ELearning Specific Settings

ELearning specific settings are set during the fourth step of module creation, or at anytime by clicking on the eLearning Settings tab.

  • Launch Type: SCORM 1.2, AICC, and Complete on Launch are supported by Cognition - make sure to match this setting to the actual content

    • If a module is built in Rise 360, use SCORM instead of AICC.

    • Modules set up to Complete on Launch will prompt the student to select if they have finished the module

  • Mobile Ready: Check this box if your content is usable on a mobile device

  • Force Mobile: Check this box to force users to complete content on  a mobile device.  This setting also applies to content on Public Landing Pages.  It does not apply to Training Huddles.

  • Launch URL

    • Create new: Link to any URL where you may be hosting content on your intranet or externally

    • Build from root: The first section of the URL is pre-generated based on the available root URLs specified in the Environment Settings page of the Administration tab. Next, you will paste the exact location of the eLearning launch file based on where it’s located on your web server (FTP).

    • Verify Launch URL: Verified whether or not the URL points to an accessible file, but does not ensure that the file type is correct or that the file itself is not corrupted or otherwise unusable
