Security Log

In Version 8.5.5, Reflection Software implemented a new security log. This log can be found on the Security tab of User Administration. This log is an improvement and replacement of the Logins tab. Below is a sample Security Event Log. See the table below for an explanation of the various log entries.

A failed registration attempt means that the user entered some incorrect information. Which fields are required for login are set on the Login tab of System Settings.

This log entry is generated when a user, who has already logged in, changes their password from the Gear Menu → Change Password page.

After several failed attempts, this user will be locked out. They will either need to wait until the lockout is reset, or contact and administrator.

This log entry is generated, when an administrator manually resets a lockout. Administrators with access to a users Security Tab can clear failed attempts, even if a user is not yet locked out.

Support View

This log entry is generated when an administrator enters Support View for a user. For log entries prior to 8.6.0, this entry type indicates that the (now deprecated) Support Password was used to login. In this case, the ‘Action By’ column will show ‘N/A’

Security Group Changes

This log entry is generated when an administrator adds or removes a user from a Security Group.

The number in parentheses is the internal ID of the Security Group.

NOTE: Most entries include Browser Details (Browser and OS used, IP Address, Flash Version, whether the device is a mobile device, and device name if applicable). For technical reasons, login, reset, and registration attempts from ILT Digital Sign-In Sheets will not include browser details.
