Access the Add Learning Module page

To add a learning modulenew Learning Module, start by clicking on the 'learning modules' link under the 'Content' heading Learning Modules link located in the 'Learning Management' menuunder the Content header.

On this page, click the 'Add New' green plus symbol located on the upper right of the screen.

Select the Learning Module type

Select what the type of learning module you wish to add. For this example, we will be using 'eLearning'.

Enter Learning Module information

Enter basic information about the learning module Learning Module being added into the listed fields, such as the 'Code', 'Name', Category, 'Estimated Duration', etc.

At the bottom of this page, under 'Development Plan Administration Restrictions', there are check boxes to 'Allow Manual Completions', 'Allow Exemptions', and to 'Allow Incompletes'.

Assignment Properties

Enter the 'Assignment Properties' for this learning module. These include the 'Highlight on Development Plan' feature, along with 'Due Date', 'Weight', and 'Retake' settings.

Learning Module Settings

Step 4 is where you will set settings specific to the Learning Module type. See each module type's page for more information:

For the eLearning module type, these settings include 'Launch Type' and 'Launch URL'.

Learning Module Review

After completing these steps, review all of your past selections and then press the green 'Finish' button at the bottom of the page.

Before this module can taken by students, there are settings that must be configured in the specified module type’s Settings tab (i.e. eLearning Settings, etc).

If a module is assigned before being properly configured, students will not be able to launch the training.

The required settings will be noted in the yellow banner at the top of the specified module type’s Settings tab.

It is highly recommended that the Assignment and Publishing tabs are reviewed before assigning the newly created module. Assignment settings include how many days students have to complete the module and if retakes are allowed. Publishing settings include who can see this module in the catalog and whether it can be added as an elective.
