Resource Links

Resource Links are a way to allow your users to easily navigate from the Student Dashboard to other points of interest. Each Resource Link acts as a hyperlink to another page. They can point to other webpages inside the LMS (such as Landing Pages, documents, or announcements) or to other external sites. Resource Links pointing at external sites will always open in a new tab.

Student View

Resource Link administration can be found under the Configuration header in the Cognition menu, in the top bar. Resource Links will appear to students in the same order that they appear on this page.

They can be quickly and easily rearranged by clicking the Reorder button at the bottom of the screen. Click and drag rows using the reorder symbol in the first column, and then click Apply Order to finalize.

New Resource Links can be added by clicking the Add New button at the top right of the main page, or by clicking Add Resource Link under the More Options menu anywhere in Resource Link administration. New Resource Links only need a title and a URL.

By default, new Resource Links will be hidden from the Student Dashboard.

Once your new Resource Link has been created, you can check the Show on Student Dashboard checkbox. A default Dashboard Icon and Dashboard Icon Color will be automatically populated, and you will see a Preview of what it will look like on the Student Dashboard just below those fields.

There are a multitude of options for Dashboard Icons, so try exploring what is available. You can search icons by typing into the “Type to filter” search box inside the icon menu.

Icon colors can be selected using a simple color wheel or by entering in the hex code of the color you’d like to use.

If you’d like to display a Resource Link to only a subset of your users, navigate to the Positions tab. Users who are in at least one of the listed Positions will have the Resource Link appear on their Student Dashboard.
