Outdated ELearning Content Being Displayed

Sometimes users may see an outdated version of eLearning content even if the content package has been updated on the server.  The browser caches the old version of the content and displays that instead of the new version, which can even cause errors or other unexpected behavior.  In this case, clearing your browser's cache may fix the issue.  Instructions for how to do this in several browsers are included below.

Table of Contents

Internet Explorer 11

First, locate the options menu in the top right corner (it should like like a small gear).  Navigate through the 'Safety' sub-menu and click 'Delete browsing history'.  Alternately, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Del.

A menu will pop up that will let you fine tune what parts of your cache to clear.  History, Download History, Form data, and Passwords are unlikely to cause issues with Cognition.  Select which parts of your cache you want to delete and hit Delete.

Google Chrome

First, locate the options menu in the top right corner (it should look like three dots in a vertical line).  Navigate through the 'More tools' sub-menu and click 'Clear browsing data'.  Alternately, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Del.

A menu will pop up that will let you fine tune what parts of your cache to clear.  Browsing history is unlikely to cause issues with Cognition.  Select which parts of your cache you want to delete and hit CLEAR DATA.

Mozilla Firefox

First, locate the menu in the top right corner (it should look like three horizontal lines).  Select 'Options' to open the options menu.

From here, select the 'Privacy & Security' tab on the left and look for the Cookies and Site Data section.  Click the 'Clear Data' button, which will open another menu.

The clear data menu will allow you to select which parts of your cache to clear.  Select your cookies and cached web content and hit 'Clear'.
