Group DPA Timeout with Progress Filter - User List Workaround

Your Group DPA job may be timing out if you are using a progress filter on Step 4 of Group DPA and you are receiving a message that says:

This job failed to complete. Because the error occurred in the middle of processing the job, we recommend that you contact Reflection Software with the diagnostic file available below before trying again.

You can confirm this by opening the diagnostic file and finding an error that says:

Error running GroupDPA Job (JobID: 1234; Message: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.)

Workaround

To work around this issue, you can use the user list upload feature of Group DPA:

  1. First run an Assigned Learning Module Status Report with the same filters that you selected in your Group DPA progress filter.
  2. Make sure that the list of users in the report is correct. Make changes to the data as needed.
  3. Run Group DPA with User List Upload and use the report as your user list. Skip step 4 of Group DPA (do not select a progress filter).
