Tests can be added to any module type except Profile Collection. If a test is added to a module, a user will need to complete it to get credit for that module. Tests can also be used to let users test out of modules.
Adding a Test to a Module
To add a test to a module, open it in Learning Module administration and navigate to the 'Test' tab. Click 'Add Test'
Use the pop out to search for and select a test.
Test Settings
- 'Passing Score' is set in the Test.
- 'Test Behavior' cannot be changed from 'Test' for module types other than Test Only Modules.
- 'Allow Test Out' and 'Allow Test Out for Retakes' control how users can take tests to skip the main content.
- 'Failed Attempts Before Forcing Content' lets you set how many tries a user has to test out before being forced to view the content. If this is set to '0', a user has unlimited attempts.
- 'Failed Attempts Before Lockout' controls how many times a user can fail a test before being forced to wait and how long they have to wait. Only attempts after viewing the content are counted for this function. Set this setting to '0' to disable this functionality.
- 'Lockout Auto Release Days' controls how long the lockout lasts. If 'Lockout Release Days' is set to '0', a supervisor must manually reverse the lockout.
- 'Attempts Granted with Max Attempt Lockout Reset' lets you set a different number of attempts after a lockout reset.
Testing out as a Student
If a module has a test and allows testing out, then a 'Test Out' button will appear next to the 'Start' button on My Development Plan.
