Assignment Positions

Assignment positions Positions are used to automatically assign learning modules Learning Modules to a specific group of users.

Compared Curriculums can be added to the Administrative Position Types, Assignment Position Types have two additional tabs near the top of the page. Those being the Curriculums and Learning Modules tabs. You may add Curriculums in the Curriculums tab and the . The associated Learning Modules for from the Curriculums added will be displayed in the Learning Modules Tabtab.

These Positions can also be used in other places where you need to specify a specific audience is needed, such as:

  • Announcement Audiences

  • Collections

  • Global HR Groups

  • Goals

  • Resource Links

  • Tasks

  • etc.

Administrative Positions

Administrative Positions are used to assign specific Roles (instructorInstructor, administratorAdministrator, etc.) to a group of users based on various filters.

When selecting this type, another dropdown box will appear saying Role. The Role you choose will be given to all user within this Position.

Let’s say you need to give the Instructor role to users who have with a certain job code. Then within Job Code. When creating the Position filters, you would choose the Instructor role and you would filter on that Job Code. Then when Administrative Type and the Instructor Role. When configuring the Position filters, add a Job Code filter, then filter on the Job Code you wish to receive the role.

When a new user is added to the system with that the specified Job Code, then they will automatically be given the Instructor role, so that they don’t need to be manually given the Role.
