An OJT module can be set to allow the reviewer to initiate the workflow even if the student has not submitted, or the module has not been automatically submitted. If the OJT module is not assigned to the student, the reviewer can initiate the process and this will make a manual assignment to start the review.
In order for the reviewer to initiate the workflow, the following applies
Module settings:
The module must allow reviewers to initiate the workflow
Reviewer role settings:
The Reviewer must have a role that is allowed to initiate reviews in the role settings (link?)
You may want to ensure that a module has retakes enabled. This will allow a reviewer to initiate a review even if a student has previously completed the module.
Initiating the Workflow as a Reviewer
The review can be initiated from the reviewer’s dashboard, or through development plan administration. Scope for the reviewer’s role applies when searching for users. The module history and submission report will show that the reviewer initiated the submission.
To initiate the review from the reviewer dashboard:
Select Start a New Review
Select the Student and Learning module. If the module is not assigned to the student, this process will automatically assign the module and start the review. Note: this will bypass the student answering any student questions.
Select Start Review
To initiate the review from the Student Development Plan:
Navigate to the student’s development plan.
Click the OJT module assignment so it expands. Then click the Start Review button.
Confirm you wish to skip the student submission phase by clicking Start Review.
For reviewer initiated modules, declinations should be set up as None (approvals only), and Decline and close assignment only. They should not be set up as return to student since the student submission was skipped.
Since student submission will be skipped, reviewer initiated modules should not be used with digital signature documents.
Setup
If you want reviewers to be able to start regardless of assignment, make sure role can make assignments with DPA, (assign retakes?) etc.
Make sure publishing is correct
Scope for the current role applies when looking for users
May want to set up as approve only or approve and decline and close only. (No return to student)
