Smart Group Filter Report

Over time, as new Smart Groups (formerly Positions) are created and old ones evolve, it can be difficult to see the bigger picture. The Smart Group Filter Report simplifies this by providing a consolidated view of the specific filter criteria defining each group. It is the ideal tool for auditing, ensuring consistency and identifying redundant configurations.

How to Generate the Report

  1. Navigate to the Reports menu

  2. Locate the Smart Group Filter Report

  3. Select the specific Smart Group(s) you wish to audit

  4. Generate the report

Understanding the Output

The report downloads as an Excel file (.xlsx) containing 2 tabs:

  • Summary View
Displays a high-level count of the filter types used in each selected Smart Group (e.g., how many groups filter by "Job Code" vs. "Location").

  • Detailed View
Lists every specific filter condition for each selected Smart Group. This view is ideal for deep-dive reviews and troubleshooting potential configuration errors.

Note: This report displays the filters that define the Smart Groups. It does not list the individual users populated within those groups.

Summary

The Smart Group Filter Report is a simple tool for gaining visibility into how Smart Groups are structured across your system – making it easier to maintain clean, consistent and well-targeted user audiences.
