Cognition Tests are multiple choice tests that can be added to any module type (except Profile Collection). You can use the test as a knowledge check after the user has reviewed a module’s content or you can use it as a “Test Out” so the user can skip going through the module’s content if they pass.

Adding a Test to a Module

To add a test to a module, open it in Learning Module administration and navigate to the Test tab and click Add Test.

You will then use the pop-up to search for and select an existing test you want to link to this module. If you need to create a new test, then visit Creating a Test.

Note: Certain types of tests are only appropriate for specific module types. For example, Session tests are built for Instructor-Led Trainings and Courseware tests are built for e-Learning modules. See Creating a Test for more information.

Test Settings

When you associate a test with a learning module, you will be presented with all of the test settings. The settings you see below are the default settings that were set when the Test was created, but when you associate it to a learning module you are able to customize the defaults.

Testing out as a Student

If a module has a test and allows testing out, then a Test Out button will appear next to the Start button on My Development Plan.
